Title:

Boulder Community Alliance

Wants

We need to incorporate our full name, although locally, most people just use the acronym BCA. I'd prefer a conceptual graphic to a clip-arty ag or cowboy or pioneer-looking thing. BCA is committed to COMMUNITY and all that implies; I also want to promote the concept of an "alliance" of the various entities in town. All this within the overtext of living together in this fabulous place on earth. Even though this is arid high-desert, we have (irrigated) green fields lying between alpine (Boulder Mountain) and the Escalante Canyons of red sandstone, and here in town are mesas of white, wavy-looking Navajo sandstone. Did I mention this place is spectacular?

The ancient residents of this area were the ancestral Puebloan people, aka Anasazi. Apparently this was a trading center of some sort, which indicates that it's always been a gathering place or melting pot of various groups. However, the Boulder Arts Council already has a cool pictograph-thing in their logo and we can't look similar. http://www.boulderartscouncil.com/

We'll use our logo on all our printed materials, some of which need to be in black and white too.

Don't Wants

No people "wearing hats" representing their different demographic slots.
Not too busy.

About Us

We're a 501(c)(3), community nonprofit, located in tiny Boulder, Utah (pop. around 250). We try to be completely inclusive, which is why we have a logo/branding problem. We're involved in restoring beavers to Boulder Mountain, removing invasive plants from the watershed, supporting local arts, supporting local culture/heritage which includes the rancher/pioneer element, supporting local and sustainable ag which includes more of the younger and more progressive individuals who want to live in a beautiful and relatively unspoiled place. As an organization, we're committed to "serving and preserving the unique character of Boulder." For a tiny, rural, originally mostly Mormon-rancher town, we now have an incredibly active and diverse population. What everyone new and old shares is a true love for the PLACE-- it's world-class gorgeous--- and the clean air and water, dark night skies, beautiful fields, and good people. Our website is so outdated as to be pitiful, but it's www.bouldercommunityalliance.org and yes, we already have a web designer working on the update. Another source of local photos is the official town site: http://boulder.utah.gov. We're right on Scenic Byway 12 in Utah, recently voted among the Top 10 most beautiful drives in the world!
