Title:

Escalante Heritage/ Hole in the Rock Center

Subtitle

Preserve -- Educate -- Inspire

Wants

It needs to show clearly the idea of the Hole-in-the-Rock. It needs to be something that can be useful on letterhead, business cards, and other forms of communication. The Escalante/Hole in the Rock story is about the migration of Mormon pioneers from the west side of Utah to the East side. The Hole-in-the-Rock story chronicles the travels of the pioneers through a narrow pass through rugged rocks down a steep incline into what is now Lake Powell. Check out the attached image. It would be appropriate to represent a wagon descending through the opening in the logo. 09/19/13 - Check out the updated sample image. It would be interesting to see if it,or something similar to it could be incorporated. 09/23/13 - The sample image has been changed again. This will be the last time for doing so. Also, it has been suggested that the text reading "Hole in the Rock Center" should be emphasized more than "Escalante Heritage." It would be good to see both options. A third option is to emphasize the entire phrase equally.

Don't Wants

It is tempting to use the famous arch photo for scenes in Utah. While this is an impressive site for our state, it is not what the Escalante Heritage/Hole in the Rock Center has been established to teach about. The logo should not include the symbol of the arch.
