Melanson Development Logo

Subtitle

Logo for family-owned residential development company to use on business cards, website, car decal, signs, and other marketing materials.

Wants

I want a professional looking logo that is simple and classic - something with the company name but give it a little flair. The old logo (which was great, but unfortunately was never digitalized) was the imprint of a tree that looked like a maple tree in an oval shape with the name arched around it.

Nothing modern. Something with a house might be nice because the company builds houses.

I would like a serif font that is italicized - Something like Adobe Garamond Italic. I would also like there to be some dark, forest green in the logo. No bright colors.

Don't Wants

Nothing modern and no bright colors (Lighter shades are okay, as long as they are not bright.) The image I uploaded was something I did, but it's too plain. I want something better! I would like to have the green color included but I'm not sold on the maroon color. It also needs something beyond the dark colors to lighten it up a bit.

About Us

The company has been family-owned for over 50 years. I am having this logo designed for my father for a Christmas gift. He's not too into the whole marketing thing but needs to be! He's a very simple man - so he won't like anything too flashy.
