This is a great first draft, thank you for your submission, brichnic. I am looking for something more romantic and less gothic in style because this will be used as a logo for a wedding. The S&K should be in a calligraphy style font. I'm also looking for something where the leaf shape is based more on the henna design pattern with no leaf outlined indicated a plain straight line. I like the paisley and stem pattern you used but I'm looking for the design to flow together more as you would see in a henna pattern done on an Indian brides hand - more dense design with pattern connecting them and not necessarily more paisleys.
Thank you brichnic. I like the purple color but for the red I'm looking for something a little darker like a fall red. I'm not sure the numbers you use for Photoshop, but I'm thinking something along the lines of 690e0e (R:105, G:15, B:14) but I'm open to suggestions.
Hmm.. I'm sorry to hear that Jzar, but, I've personally won several contests here and I've always been paid. Maybe this is something you should take up with an administrator in a professional manner, not by interrupting active contests that you're not submitting to.
After not hearing from the owner of this website, Bri, for a payment I felt was way over due and also after hearing from several other designers who hadn't been paid for recent contests, I felt it was my last option to use a more drastic tactic. I wasn't getting a response otherwise. We have since communicated and I believe he's being sincere. I've also heard from a couple other designers who got paid today.
Thank you for adding more intricacy to the design, bri. After looking at both of them I think I like #1 better because of the white space and simplicity. What I intended to mean by “dense” design is that I want the designs, such as the paisley’s, in #1 to flow into each other rather than look like isolated elements of the design (see the links below for examples of how the designs flow into each other, however I don’t want to use up all of the white space like those links show).
I’m starting to like the single solid color more so maybe I’ll stick with the purple color you are using because it looks great. I also like the circle you used in #1 over the paisley in the new design. Bradley Hand or Brush Script in word is an example of the style of the text I am looking for. http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7TSHB_en&biw=1280&bih=631&tbm=isch&tbnid=Fvtg2Y9nNULNBM:&imgrefurl=http://syaaaaaaap2012.blogspot.com/2011/11/henna-mehndi-designs.html&docid=gzB4YWA7oaw7xM&imgurl=http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qQxPAuEVe5A/TrvwUKb2mNI/AAAAAAAAHCk/B_PrypjQHR8/s1600/Henna%252BMehndi%252BDesigns%252BFor%252BHands14.jpg&w=297&h=297&ei=QhIzT5DAOcPl0QHNi9TxBw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=617&vpy=133&dur=1265&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=154&ty=155&sig=105049212394820082953&page=1&tbnh=137&tbnw=140&start=0&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0 http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7TSHB_en&biw=1280&bih=631&tbm=isch&tbnid=RcL_Bu3wmhjMLM:&imgrefurl=http://hennabyheather.com/henna_blog/%3Fp%3D89&docid=yTPeiqXG0iBhXM&imgurl=http://hennabyheather.com/henna_blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/victoria_indian_bridal_henna_mehndi_design.jpg&w=600&h=413&ei=QhIzT5DAOcPl0QHNi9TxBw&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=54&sig=105049212394820082953&page=1&tbnh=141&tbnw=197&start=0&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:14,s:0&tx=109&ty=96
LOL yes I looked at some online images of Henna tattoos to see what they look like, but I used NO clip art. All of my art is 100% vector art that I drew myself.
That's really impressive work and so much detail, Majic5!
What I'm looking for is a hybrid of all of your work. I want the white space that #9 and #1 offer so that I can shrink this design into a small image if I need to. I also love the flow and connections between the different Indian henna graphics that #13 and #9 offer as well as how the shape of the maple leaf is defined without a solid line in those two.
Ideally, I'd like something along the lines of #9 that looks a little more Indian in design (elements from #1 or #13 - maybe incorporate them by making the paisley elements at the top of the design look a little more like traditional henna paisleys) and shifts a couple of the lines slightly to make the shape look more like a maple leaf.
Let me know if entries 19 or 20 look more like the maple leaf. The only difference between the two entries are the two leaves on the sides of the top point. Thanks!
Great work showmyart. We like #22, but would like to see the curled shapes that are at the top of the maple leaf have a more henna look. To be specific, this means having another shape inside the curled objects that mimic the curves. We would like to have the same thing done to the curled shapes on the bottom left and bottom right side of the maple leaf. As an example of this technique, take a look at curled objects in submission #4.
Showmyart - is it possible to see two versions of changes to #22. One with the changes described above and another with the changes described above and the design above the paisleys on each of the three points to the leaf changed to the petal design as in the link shown below -- with two petals on the bottom and one on the top so that the shape remains silmilar to what you already have (this henna pattern is on our cake).

With petals. The link above had many pictures I couldn't tell which petals you were referring to, so since there's only a short time left, I kind of just guessed and went with what matched the design, but if you wanted something else, please let me know, I'd be glad to make any further modifications. Thanks!
Showmyart - I love the new adjustment to the paisleys. Here is the link for the petals I was thinking of. Sorry about that. I think just three petals stacked with two on the bottom and one on the top would work (for each of the points where you have placed the three flowers now) without the entire flower repeated 3 times if that makes sense.
Sorry Showmyart, one last request, if you are able to fit it in. We would love to have the little elephant shape in the top left of the link below replace the tear drop above our initials. We don't want to change the size of the tear drop much if at all to fit it. We would hate to ruin the wonderful design that you've put together. If it doesn't work, that is okay as well.

S&K first off : Congratulations!! =) Secondly, while I'm working on a redesign, what was your opinion of the colors used in the first draft?

(Sorry about that "Warning".. I'm sure Logobids will have that cleared up soon.) I'll have a revision to you soon!
Oop, same design, uploaded twice.

sorry, I thought it was in the shape of a maple leaf. I guess it's not pointy enough?
I don't want to be dumb, but where are all the missing entries?
Let me know if entries 19 or 20 look more like the maple leaf. The only difference between the two entries are the two leaves on the sides of the top point. Thanks!

Hi Majic, I would like the maple leaf shape to be more clearly defined into the shape that you would see on the Canadian flag.
Contest Holder
Bri, could you change the font of the letter in the center of #1 to be Bradley Hand or Brush Script?
#21, #22: different variations.

You can also see examples of the paisley vectors http://www.keepdesigning.com/illustrator/indian-henna-design-vectors/
The double lines is the major thing we're trying to point out, we don't need all the detail from the paisley added.
Thanks!
