actually I did not take a look at the other ones. If you would know some of my works you wood know that there are quite more in this style. it's ok I retract it as you had a similar one I haven't seen before doing it.
but actualy I thought logobids sence should be finding the right logo step by step by telling what's close. (And I'm quite not sure if you have the rights on the font from Diddl.)
Just want everyone to hang in there as we work toward choosing the right logo. Because this means so much to us, we have decided to extend the contest for another week. Thanks for all of your hard work and support.
but in order to find the right logo for you you should give feedback to the works more than once per week. otherwise you wouldn't find the right logo in the next week as well. I really have to agree with stickie in that point.
1. the contest is open till monday! I had to work the whole week and wanted to work on my logo today. ok... bad luck, be happe with your choice. 2. the logo was retracted 3. you should be careful using the diddl-font (copyrights) and i don't know if you want that everyone thinks that you cooporate with diddl.
1.- ... 2.- WAS retracted and UN-retracted because a petition of John Russo. 3.- Is not the Diddl-font. The BranchingMouse font has no copyrights, it's a free font.
I know that is not a conventional logo, but is the logo that BRCWS wants. Be more professional, Mila or your future as a designer will be very hard (not here, in your day to day work).
ok, if he wants so... I think it is strange beacause at the beginning he said that that's the wrong way. but ok, if they want to have it they can have it. I have no problem with that. (no irony)
What I have a problem with is closing the contest 3 days before end. I got some personal messages as well that they are interested in my logos but i had no chance to work on them. I think, that's not fair. Some people have to work 60 hours per week and even more (as a professional designer if you want so or webdeveloper and designer as I do).
And even if it's a free font, I would never use it for another company than for diddl (as a professional designer). But do whatever you want to. And Chairs we shar liked it so they maybe can live with the fight after it. (Using a free font for commercial usage is different from using it for personal stuff. And Diddl might have a problem with that if another company uses a similar style. You should know that as a professional designer)
And my future in work is quite well, you can be sure :) You know why? Because I'm fighting for my jobs with all the talent I have. And I'm not unfair to all the other designers that might want to have this job. And I don't like others being unfair to me. Maybe I wanna live in a perfect world but it worked quite well up to now to be nice to everyone.
And I didn't want to fight you with my last comment. It was for the company. You didn't close the contest...
So, you're saying that if a company uses Helvetica (or some similar typo like Arial), no one more can use it (or some similar typo)? It's the first time I hear something like that in all my career. I'm not stupid, if I use a font it's because I'm sure I can use it.
Look, I know that is extrange to close a contest 3 days before end, but is the decission of the holder to do that. I guess he felt that nobody was close to what he was looking for. I don't know. May have consulted with other people and it has been decided.
I don't want to fight with you too, but you mentioned two things that are directly related to my design (2 and 3) and I had to reply. If you look, I do not say anything about the first point in the other comment.
"I got some personal messages as well that they are interested in my logos" You and all the people who have submited a logo.
"And my future in work is quite well, you can be sure :) You know why? Because I'm fighting for my jobs with all the talent I have. And I'm not unfair to all the other designers that might want to have this job. And I don't like others being unfair to me. Maybe I wanna live in a perfect world but it worked quite well up to now to be nice to everyone." Oh! (With a very big exclamation). Your words do not say the same thing.
did i say anything bad to you? i don't think so. i said nothing about your designs your work or whatever. but i noticed in a lot of your old contests that you like to affront people... don't care. by the way: using a common font and using a font speacially designed for a company are different things (and even if someone copys this font to let's say 99% and makes it free.)
maybe the law is different in different countries. in germany they wouldn't have a chance. but that's surely not my problem.
i really have no problem that they took your logo. i just don't like the way they did it. but that shouldn't be your problem so why do you want to discuss about that?
"I noticed in a lot of your old contests that you like to affront people" Examples, please. I confront the CATI owner because his absolute lack of education. And the Apache Skateboards contest holder because his strange selection method (I'm sure it was a designer who was hired and lacking ideas). But I had never said anything bad about the design of other people. Surely, I have a lot of problems for having defended the work of others -and mine- in this website.
"I really have no problem that they took your logo." Is not what it seems. You do not desist from saying that the typo used is a copyrighted one when it is not true. What are you looking for with that, Mila? Design laws in Germany, Spain and USA are the same. Read about it.
(Who is Bobby?)
Thanks.
