For Global Activity, it will be a link to a page that talks about Jayco's Global Activity. So while it should be prominent on the front page, it is a link and not a tag line. I'm thinking maybe an icon of a globe with the words (find out about our global activities) would be great.
@creativity I prefer a modern design, but this company is not web 2.0. However, they want to convey a cutting edge appearance, yet satisfy their audience of large "old" style companies and government entities.
This feedback is for all designs except #13 and #14 (which was not in the first batch I showed him):
"They all seem too busy and are hard to read. I don't like the large dot silhouette that appears in many of the layouts, and I don't like the dark color scheme. I would like to see a simpler, cleaner, cooler, spare (but not cold) page - willing to look at cutting edge as long as it isn't hyper.
I know it wasn't intended as graphic design, but the wireframe layouts looked good - perhaps you can build on that theme? I also like the font you used in the wireframes."

nice try guys ;) ... i understand why you are so intimidated ( i mean it is a masterpiece after all ) but that dosen't mean you can manipulate the client .... have some pride
no matter what the result of this contest , i'm still really happy with my entry and as for the client all i want to say is this : this design was created so that it would satisfy your requirments , forget if it is 2.0 , 1.0 or even 555.65 my design is made for you and if you don't like it ... no hard feelings , you are the boss afterall no one has the right to say what you like and what you don't
Joker, forgive me but, what is your intent here? I don't think it fair of you to say to all of us, "don't manipulate the client, have some pride." when, in fact, it is quite obvious you seem to be the one doing the manipulating? I also don't think it is right of you to criticize everyones work on a negative note, trying to sway the client...this is not your decision here...it is the clients. Have some "professionalism" in the manner of which you speak. And if you want to know the truth...jpa is right as far as your design goes.. "too conventional". I started out with a mock template just as you have, but instead chose to present to the client a design from scratch, totally customized to his description, keeping the business card in mind, one of a kind. If he doesn't like it then that is fine, but at least I spent the time working on some "originality...:-) And like you, "no matter what the result of this contest , i'm still really happy with my entry " Good luck in any case.
So far the client likes #13 best, but had this feedback:
It still looks too busy - maybe the problem is that we are trying to put too much on the home page. Home page needs to show instantly who we are and what we do - kind of like an elevator speech.
Please loot at ddstudio.com for an idea of the clean appearance I would like to see. We don't want to look like their site - we need our own identity - but this site is a good model of simplicity and easy on the eyes.
i submited 2 new designs ... one is a revision and the other is a whole new version ... hope you'll enjoy it
@kshdzines : i sure appreciate all these lines you wrote about me ..... listen you seem like a nice guy , don't just tell things you don't know ... you don't know anything about how i work or how i create my designs , so please just stop it ( and i wasn't talking to you anyway )
Good Luck...sent you a private message rather than disrupt the message board here. Just one thing...I said nothing "I didn't know", only what was stated by you.
The latest designs were sent in for review last night.
The feedback given today from the client is that they would like to see what an inner page would look like. I advised that it would basically be the header and footer with different content in the middle. I am awaiting their response.
I have created an inner page for this site in case your client would like to see how the rest of site will look and function. I will post the file if your client is interested in viewing it.
I apologize. I have had difficulty pinning the client down for a final decision, and then they went out of town until Monday. I'll be trying again them. Likely I will meet with the client in person to hammer through all the details. I will keep you all posted.
Thanks for your patience. This is a guaranteed contest and a winner will be selected and paid. Thanks!
BTW, that is a cool picture that you retracted creativity.
Also, feel free to submit additional entries that you would like considered. I will likely meet with the client either Monday or Tuesday, so there is a bit more time.
any updates ? ... i have an offer on one of the designs and i really don't want to decide until i see who's the winner .... because i think you are more worthy
I finally had a chance to sit down with the client for several hours. He has decided to use the mockups we created for his final design. He felt that the designs created here were too "busy" and stylistically he really liked our mockups. This is the first time that has happened!
Unfortunately, I will not likely need any more work done on this project, as I've already picked a winner for the design of the logo, business card and stationary.
All that said, I personally think joker's design was best with KHDZN a close second.
I do appreciate everyone's hard work and I would like joker and KHDZN to private message me with their information for direct contracting opportunities.
I look forward to bringing more projects to LogoBids.com.
i really would like to see your "mockup" ... anyway you got my email adress .... cheers
for some of you .... be relieved , i'll leave this site ... i find it very "insecure" .... it's free to post contests , so most of guys here are just jackasses that would love to see people waste time on nothing ... so i guess you lose one talented designer logobids.com
