I like the NIN feel, but it's not quite right. If I had to pick I would think alternative, industrial (is that even cool anymore?). Thematically its about self reliance, shaking the system, challenging everything. More ragged, more rugged. Does this help?

It's not a particular style. It's more of an attitude. We have and are producing music ranging from straight up rock and roll to electronica to jazz fusion to absolute music.
Let's focus the discussion this way: If you were looking to create a symbol for a cult, what would it look like?
#7: I've tried to integrate the concepts "shaking the system" and "changeling everything" with a destroyed like typography mantaining a sans-serif typo and, also remarking the concepts with the red ! symbol. At the same time, I've supported the NIN logo essence. I think, maybe it's better for you to not include curves in your logo like most of the cult logos, but I can try to integrate some "elegant elements" into the design. Saludos.
It's been a week since the contest concluded. If the contest holder does not announce a decision by noon, Tuesday, September 2 (PST), I will be retracting my design entries.
